A small group of the survivors rides out into the wilderness in an effort to find their way back home to Earth. They encounter many dangerous obstacles and some are captured by mysterious people who came from Earth thousands of years before.
The group learns more about the Turonks, who they believe might be descendants from the Mayans of Earth. Several of the survivors decide to attempt to return back to Earth, so they begin training to learn how to ride the local elk-like creatures. They also learn how to use the Elden weaponry.
