I had so much fun! 大家好，今天我们来讲Lindsay的滑雪之旅。纽约这个地方四季分明，夏天有海滩生活，我们曾经做了一档节目暑假在美国，详细描述过, 大家可以去听一下，大家如果有心安排孩子在美国的夏令营，现在就得开始了。纽约冬天十分漫长，差不多4个多月有雪，好在有滑雪活动可以调剂酷寒的生活。New York state，and the surrounding states such as Pennsylvinia（宾夕法尼亚州）, Connecticut（康纳迪格州）, all have mountains that you can choose from. Lindsay, where did you go?I went to Vermont.How far is Vermont?It took us more than 6 hours to drive all the way there. Vermont is very far north. Actually, if we drove a few more miles, we would have crossed the Canadian border. Our resort （度假村）is very close to Montreal（蒙特利尔）Vermont, 美国佛蒙特州，有相当多的山，夏天大家来Hiking， Camping（露营），冬天来滑雪。这里离加拿大边境线很近了，加拿大蒙特利尔市离得不远了。We normally went to this mountain that is around a 2 hour drive, but this time, we wanted to try a more difficult mountain. And the farther north you go, the more snow there is. My family all bought new skis and boots for the occasion while I rented （租）my skis because I was still growing.去滑雪可以自带设备，滑雪的boots是一种特别特别重的靴子，卡在雪板SKI上。不同身材体重配不同长度难度的雪橇，器材党会有很多讲究。因为Lindsay还小，就租,Rent。What other necessities 必需品 is there? A helmet 头盔is a must to protect your head, because skiing can be risky and you could fall. Ski goggles护眼罩 are there to help you have clear vision视线, as snow is too bright to see for a long time, and the wind and falling snow could stop you from opening your eyes all the way. It is to protect your eyes. Scarves 围巾protect your face from being stung 刺by the wind and glovess 手套keep your fingers from freezing off. If you skied without gloves or a scarf you would probably get frostbite冻疮. Ski jackets and pants are all waterproof防水 to keep you dry and warm.蛮复杂的。头盔，眼镜，手套，围脖，滑雪服，加上前面说到的雪橇和靴子，真是累死人。You have also have to wait on a line to get on the ski lift. The lift sometimes go very slowly while it’s taking you to the top of the mountain. When I was sitting there on the lift, my hands and feet were frozen! Sometimes the temperature was 0 degrees Fahrenheit (华氏）. 天啊，华氏0度，美国使用华氏做温度计量。告诉你个公式，华氏度减32的差再乘以5/9就是摄氏度 Celcius. 华氏0度差不多就是摄氏零下18度，还有山里的风。好冷啊。lift就是带你去山顶的缆车。 Lindsay, if there is all this, why would you still go skiing despite the long drive, all the heavy gear, and the freezing temperature? At the top of mountain everything is under your sight, and sometimes you are above or in the clouds. When you ski down, you feel like you are flying. You go so fast that you zoom by the snow-frosted trees, so it seems like they’re retreating away from you. The air is so refreshing and crisp. Sometimes on the lift, if you get on late enough, you can see the sunset日落 from far away. The sun is gradually 逐渐setting, the glowing golden light touching the mountaintops as you finally reach the slopes. As you ski down you just have to take a moment to appreciate欣赏 the pink-tinted sky stretching so far over the distant mountains. I don’t normally see this in my regular, everyday life. Q: Wow… that is a fantastic experience. No wonder so many people love skiing regardless the possible risks. 大家可以多听Lindsay这里的描述，很多有意思的用法。比如Zoom这个词，Zoom by 就是Pass quickly。Retreating away，树木离你远了。空气是Fresh and Crisp, 新鲜而爽脆。Pink-tinted，淡淡染成粉红色的天空，Sky stretching so far, 天空拉伸得远远的，这是很文艺的描写好美。古文有句说法，御风而行，滑雪正是这种体验。Is that hard to learn ski? For children, it’s easier to learn skiing. When you are younger it is easier to pick up new skills and experience. I just followed my instincts and changed a few things if I noticed that I wasn’t doing well because of something. For adults it might be harder. They have heavier bodies to control, and more worries and concerns, unlike carefree 无所谓不担心的children. Regardless of age, however, skiing is fairly easy to pick up, in my opinion, if you are confident自信. Q: 人老了就不是初生牛犊，一把老骨头伤不起。Who dId you ski with? we went on the skip trip with our family friends. Sometimes they would join us when we go down the trails雪道 and we’d all have fun skiing together. We took care of each other. It was so enjoyable. We would have dinner with our family friends too, and we’d all gather around the fireplace 火炉壁炉to feel the warmth as we all laughed and joked around. My family friends, my sister, and I played cards 玩牌often after dinner. My ski trip was a memorable and fun time, that, despite being in the snow, was warm and joyous. How long have you stayed there? Altogether it was 4 days. Other than skiing, we also enjoyed a big water parks 水公园 within the resort. It was cold outside and you wore a bathing suit（游泳衣） inside in warm fun . The temperature was a dramatic difference. We all had a great time!
