The Mini Bar Kid

The Mini Bar Kid

This week Eddie breaks down a solid but unspectacular performance at the Australian PGA as he gets his DP World Tour season underway - giving us the often quite temperamental details of what actually went on and his various Eddie-esque methods of dealing with them.Andrew and Iain talk about Fuzzy Zoeller, who died this week, outlining his engaging personality, huge golfing ability and the significant mistake off the course which stayed with him. The news of of Laurie Canter officially joining LIV with the Majesticks broke too late for Eddie to discuss it, but Andrew and Iain do, while Eddie looks ahead to the Australian Open at Melbourne from the comfort one of the top-three hotels he has ever stayed in.Cashmere time at Peter Millar: https://www.petermillar.co.uk/c/gift-guide/cashmereEmail time at: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram time at: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. E.P. Can't Phone Home.

Q-School is in session and Eddie has safely negotiated stage 2. Unfortunately the same can't be said for some expensive possessions as he admits that the frustration of hitting the ball as well as he ever has was not matched by his putting. And yet... he gets to stay on in Barcelona to prepare for stage 3, while Iain has arrived in Dubai ahead of the two big end of season events on the DP World Tour. There is further chat about James Morrison finding his way back to the main tour, Tom McKibbin earning his way to the Masters and The Open as well as a mention of the Chinese Tiger Woods, changes to the Old Course and a sponsor's invitation for perhaps the best connected 18 year old in the game.Warning: this podcast is stuffed full of fluff.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. A Snowman in New Delhi

A Snowman in New Delhi

So... that's that for Eddie on Tour this season. Despite (partly) enjoying the DP World India Championship in New Delhi - and also playing a lot of good golf - one quadruple bogey ended his weekend chances and now he's back, shivering and trying to explain himself while wearing three coats in his own home. But we discover that Eddie does now intend to go to Q-School, thus ensuring more drama for the podcast in the weeks to come. There is obviously plenty of praise for Tommy Fleetwood and his latest victory in a season which, according to Andrew and Iain, puts him firmly in the top-three golfers of the year. Meanwhile Andrew tries very hard not to start a coup in West Africa or escalate tensions in the South China Sea. And Iain recommends a film starring an actor called Leonardo DiCaprio, so hopefully that will give a boost to the fellow's career.TCF brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Out of the Shadows

Out of the Shadows

An eagerly-awaited serving of TCF as Eddie gets to tell us all about the Dunhill Links experience where he showed more than a few glimpses of what he can do and where he belongs. Partnered with Andy Murray and playing with some of Europe's finest, there were huge crowds, 18 birdies for Eddie and a sizeable contingent of dogs as well as Big Ron and Mad Gazza planning their Saturday night out. A good week was clearly had by all, but where does Eddie go from here? Add to this the news that Eddie was served with a court order and Iain fell over in a kitchen and you can imagine that it is quite the episode. The Long Good Monday

The Long Good Monday

The Chipping Forecast spans the globe at the start of Ryder Cup week, by which we mean that Andrew is not very fresh off a plane from Tokyo to Los Angeles, Iain is battling with the roads of Long Island and Eddie is barely coherent, since it's after 11pm in Oxfordshire. However, our Tour pro stays awake long enough to tell us that his form is actually pretty good despite what The Italian Challenge leaderboard says. We also hear from Europe's Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald and are given the most startling revelation about a European Tour player in the history of both golf and pop music.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukCheck out: www.ping.comInsta: @thechippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. A Throw Too Far

A Throw Too Far

A logistically challenging episode with Andrew appearing between athletics sessions in Tokyo, Eddie still in Portugal and Iain recovering from a cold while trying to make his garden a barren, wildlife-free zone. Eddie talks about his poor form last week and offers contrition after recognising that he might have gone too far in his frustration. The three wonder if there has ever been a better active golfer as assistant captain than Alex Noren, while recapping the extraordinary finish to Charley Hull's latest LPGA win and applauding a win for Scottie Scheffler to end his three-week long victory drought. This podcast is brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukWith support from: www.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. Éamonn O'Pepperell & The Super Special Guest

Éamonn O'Pepperell & The Super Special Guest

The longest ever episode of TCF - not a fact of which we are proud, so we strongly suggest that you think of it as two episodes squashed together and treat it as such, being happy just to have the extra content. The reason is that there is plenty to talk about: Rory's dramatic win at the Irish Open and the fan reactions - both good and bad - which it inspired. The beautiful, yet one-sided Walker Cup and musings on whether Great Britain and Ireland needs a bit of help. And Eddie's psychological state on his return to the Hotel Planner Tour this week in Portugal. But most of all, the pod is long because we spend quite some time waiting for the appearance of a guest who might not even turn up...Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukCheck out:www.ping.comEmail:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. Death by Shot Tracker

Death by Shot Tracker

This week Eddie has returned from the mountains, where he produced a performance that has inspired him to consider a major equipment change. There is also mulling over the Atlantic imbalance, whereby those who lose their cards on the PGA Tour have the opportunities to play some often terrible golf on the DP World Tour.Of course the European Ryder Cup team gets a mention and we hear from captain Luke Donald about his selection, where he has done little more than swapping Danish twins. All three decide it's probably best that Luke didn't go rogue and pick Peter Odemwingie.Be like Thriston...Visit: www.petermillar.co.uk Check out:www.ping.comSee Eddie in the clouds: @chippingforecast (Instagram)Email:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. After the Gold Rush

After the Gold Rush

We are reduced to only two members of the TCF team and - whoever they may be - are left to discuss all the usual goings on in this crazy game we call golf. Scottie Scheffler's won a tournament, which is nice, and we wonder which will earn him more money this season - the prize money or the bonuses? And why do you need both? A more pertinent debate comes with discussing who might fill the two realistic places available for Europe's Ryder Cup team. Is Harry Hall in the frame to become the first Cornishman to play in the match? Will Marco Penge's late run be enough or are DP World Tour events just too minor? Is the late Dame Thora Hird a decent outside bet? There is also plenty of chat about LIV Golf; Jon Rahm takes the season bonus despite not winning a tournament, while one of Europe's finest ever golfers is left to contemplate sailing off into the sunset.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukHave a look at:www.ping.comInstagram:@chippingforecastEmail:tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Pain is so close to Pleasure

Pain is so close to Pleasure

In an endearingly self-deprecating description of this episode we would say that it's about twenty minutes longer than it needs to be. But there really is a lot to talk about with Eddie entertaining us all at Trump International and finding a top-10 finish on the main tour again. Yet even in finding form he still flirts with the darkness and is starting to cause some concern to Andrew, Iain and his many TCF followers / stalkers. There is also plenty of discussion of Tommy Fleetwood once again coming up short in Memphis and what he can change to get over the line. And there is no end of admiration for Justin Rose and his play-off win, with Iain suggesting there really is little that Rose can't do. Lottie Woad and Ibiza

Lottie Woad and Ibiza

This week we celebrate the arrival of a new star in golf in Lottie Woad after her oh-so-impressive victory on her professional debut at the Women's Scottish Open. The trio also celebrate Eddie's safe return from Ibiza where TCF's touring pro survived backflips and a moderately fast boating expedition under the watchful eye of safety officer Laurie Canter. The trio look ahead to the AIG Women's Open at Porthcawl as well as Eddie's return to competition and question whether Andrew really does have a putting handicap of +5.1 or whether he just has aides knocking the ball into the hole for him. Allegedly.Supported by our friends at: www.petermillar.co.ukAnd also: www.ping.comFor Laurie's outfit, visit: @chippingforecast on Instagram.Email: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast.
