Send us a textWe're back and this week it's the Cheltenham November meeting, arguably the meeting that really marks the injection of the cream of the horse crop into the National Hunt season. In this episode, Bruno, Andy and I preview an exciting Friday card with *spoiler alert* the fabled Ben & Bruno DOUBLE NAP, while Andy loses his mind putting up one in the Shloer. We worry about him sometimes.Enjoy!Ben & BrunoPlease rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textHello there pod fans and welcome to BADGER BEERS weekend at Wincanton, the site of one of our favourite race day experiences ever and a weekend we have a serious soft spot for. Maybe 'cos you're properly into November and it really feels like National Hunt season. Either way it's a great meeting and we have both that and Aintree's Grand Sefton meeting to look forward to this weekend!Bruno, myself and Mr AI himself Andy Inkling get stuck into 9 races across both cards and find, once I recover from Bruno kindly bringing up the Blue Jays' defeat in Game 7 of the World Series.Enjoy the pod and the racing this weekend and let's find some winners!Ben, Bruno & AndyPlease rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textAfter a monumental performance at HQ last weekend (if I do say so myself), we're back to look ahead to a cracking Saturday of action at Ascot and Wetherby this weekend, including the reapperance of some of the premier names in the sport that it's great to see out so early!Mr AI himself Andrew Inkling joins us again as he bids to maintain his 100% strike rate on the show, having provided 3 winners from his 3 naps since he came into our lives. Between us, we look at 5 races from Ascot and the big 3 from Wetherby and, I don't mind saying, have a bloody good time in the process.Enjoy the show & best of luck with your punting!Ben & BrunoPlease rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textIt's that time of year again, at last! It's the return of jumps racing at National Hunt HQ. Happy days. And what a two days we have in store. Big fields, old favourites and horses we've heard about all summer that we're finally going to get to see in the flesh. And all on ground that should hopefully be perfect and mean very few non runners. What more could anyone want?We rattle through all 14 races, giving you a nap for each day, and we also welcome to the show for the first time a special guest in-form tipster who'll be be joining us each week going forwards to share their insight and tips...Enjoy the racing!Ben & BrunoPlease rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textWell let's be fair it's a slightly fallow weekend of National Hunt racing after the buzz of Chepstow last weekend (and what a punting start we had!) and before the first Cheltenham meeting of the season next weekend. So we've decided to have a bit of fun this week because it is, of course, The Munster Nash!We look ahead to Sunday's card at Kempton before picking out our fancies for the big race at Limerick, also on Sunday, in the style of Bobby Pickett himself. We're only 2 weeks from Halloween after all! Thanks for listening. We hope you enjoy.Ben & BrunoPlease rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textWe're back! Refreshed and rejuvenated after a cracking summer, we're ready to get stuck right back into a new season of National Hunt racing with you.In this first episode of season FIVE (jeeze, how did we get here?), we pick out 3 horses each to follow for the season ahead. Could a forgotten Grade 1 winning second season novice chaser find his way back to the top? Could we have another northern-trained horse that will rise through the handicapping ranks to eat at the top table? Speculation. Rationality. Emotion. It's all here.We then move on to look at the Friday and Saturday of this weekend's Persian War meeting at Chepstow. This is always a fun meeting but this year it feels like we have some particularly good fields, not to mention the extra day with the Welsh Champion Hurdle moving from Ffos Las to a Sunday card here for the first time. It's great to be back with you. Enjoy and let's go find some winners!Cheers,Ben & BrunoPlease rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textHopefully some of you got on Irancy at a massive price on Tuesday! What a start to the week that was. We hit the post a couple of times after that but have some good fancies for the final three days of the Punchestown Festival to hopefully finish the National Hunt season on a high.Enjoy! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textThis week we are incredibly excited to say that we hit the 100 EPISODES milestone! We started this for a bit of fun in January '22 with no designs on where it would take us but we wanted to answer some of the many questions we had about the sport we love. And we think we did that in our "Deep Ground" sections of each episode which now, we like to think, cumulatively serve as a nice little reference library that you can dive back in to at any point should you want to know more about the different component parts of our sport.Latterly we've pivoted to focusing the show on what we love, form study and race analysis with a view to some weekend punting and we continue to have a brilliant time putting these episodes together. Long may it continue! In this epsiode, we get nostalgic for a bit then turn our attentions to the first 2 days of the Punchestown Festival on Tuesday and Wednesday. Keep your eyes peeled too as we'll be back later this week to cover the remining 3 days.Thank you to all who have listened over the last 1,196 days! Here's to 100 more...Enjoy.Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textAnd just like that, the end of the jumps season is upon us. We're sad here at The Talking Horses Podcast BUT we're also very excited about a pheonmenal card at Sandown this Saturday to finish it all off with Willie and Dan fighting it out for the trainer's title. The odds are stacked against him with Willie's Irish armada making the journey but we think it's possible for Mr Skelton to pull it out of the fire.Enjoy! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textWe're back for one of the big weekends in the Irish National Hunt racing calendar, it's the Irish Grand National meeting at Fairyhouse!Sadly, the Saturday has been lost to the weather. However, we're hopeful Sunday and Monday will go ahead and so we get stuck in to trying to find some winners across those two days including 11/1 and 4/1 naps and a strong joint fancy in the big race itself on Monday.Enjoy! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textWe're back to preview Grand National Day itself with an in-depth look at all 7 races on the card and a JOINT NAP at double figure odds + a 69/1 ew double to get stuck into.Enjoy and good luck in the big one! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textWe're back for day 2 of the Grand National meeting and we've a horse in a Grade 1 to get well stuck in to along with some choice fancies in the handicaps where the value on day 2 most definitely lies.Enjoy! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textThe quick turnaround from Cheltenham to Aintree this year may not be the best news for those horses that ran at HQ but it's great news for us punters as we didn't have to wait long! We'll be with you with a separate episode for each day of the meeting this week, kicking off with Day 1 including a confident bet in the Foxhunters' of all races!Enjoy. Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textAs the dust settles on another memorable March week at HQ, our minds start to turn towards the rest of the spring festivals and, of course, nothing stands out more on the horizon than the Grand National itself. So this week, Bruno and I do the decent thing and get well and truly stuck into the greatest jumps race of them all in an effort to find some antepost value as well as a shortlist to take very seriously post declarations and once we know the ground.Enjoy! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textWell it's seems almost impossible to believe that the best week of the year is nearly upon us and Bruno and I could...not...be any more excited. The four best days in racing, jumps or flat, beckon and in what is our final episode before the big week we look ahead to each of the 12 handicaps and provide our angles and fancies. It's been a huge amount of fun researching for and putting together this episode and the handicaps in particular are such a game of opinions. Hopefully your homework coincides with some of ours in some races and you can put your foot through few nice bets next week!Enjoy the show and enjoy next week. We are so lucky! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textAs we count down the days to Cheltenham, this week we look ahead to the Stayers Hurdle in our Antepost Angle and ask, can Teahupoo be beaten? The answer...well you've have to listen to find out... We then get stuck into four of the ITV races at Kelso's big meeting of the year on Saturday with naps at 15/2 and 10/1.Enjoy!Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.

Send us a textThe cold snap has gone and we have jumps racing back on the agenda! That means this week we're back with a full length episode including our latest Antepost Angle, looking ahead to the Arkle and the Brown Advisory Novices Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, and a full run-through of all 7 races at Ascot on Saturday.Enjoy! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
Send us a textAs the cold snap sees off Warwick and threatens Kempton this weekend, we've decided not to waste our time going through meetings that may not be on and, instead, focus purely on our first Antepost Angle segment of this season, specifically the markets for the Supreme, the Turners and the Albert Bartlett. On the face of it these markets had a murky look about them, with the exception of one standout horse, but on closer inspection they take shape quite nicely and we pick out a knocking ew bet at 10/1 and a few at big prices for your shortlist to go with a Festival banker at a decent price!Hopefully the weather plays ball and next week we can have a look ahead to a tasty weekend of action at Ascot and Windsor alongside the next in our Cheltenham Antepost Angle series.Enjoy the show! Please rate and review the Talking Horses Podcast - thank you so much!Follow us on Twitter HERE and on Instagram HERE.
