Today I am sharing what is easily my favorite conversation, with the incredible activist, actress, and singer, Yasmine Aker. I have been following the uprising and protests in Iran since the murder of Mahasa Amini a little over a month prior to the airing of this episode. The Iranian women, youth, and LGBTQ+ community are risking their lives for a chance at the liberties and freedoms that we have today. The freedoms these courageous people are fighting for are similar in many ways to the freedoms currently attempting to be stripped from Americans.
To help amplify the voices of these incredibly brave women and because this is not either of our cultures, we are here to support Yasmine’s voice and the story of the Iranian Women’s Rights Movement that is happening right now.
