And this year the statistics are more troubling than ever - 2024 marked a new record - with almost 130 million people across the world displaced, everywhere from Gaza to Myanmar, Sudan to Venezuela. Last year the UN&apos;s Refugee Agency, the UNHCR spent nearly $5bn dollars - less than half of what was needed, thanks largely to governments around the world cutting back on their aid budgets. </p><p>To discuss the growing crisis, on this edition of The Agenda, Juliet Mann is joined by <b>Matthew Saltmarsh - Head of News and Media at the UNHCR</b>, <b>Sudan expert and CEO of African Stream, Ahmed Kabello</b> and <b>Dr.Ruvi Ziegler,  Associate Professor in International Refugee Law at the University of Reading</b>. </p>
